The chairman of an engineering college has been arrested on a charge of land grabbing here on Saturday.
Police said A. Thinagar (34) of Nagercoil and chairman of Sathyam Engineering College at Aaralvoimozhi appropriated 2.34 acres of land, worth about Rs. 2 crore, belonging to one Gatson of Azhagiyapandiapuram by allegedly creating forged documents.
Based on a complaint from Gatson, the police arrested Thinagar on Saturday. Further investigations are on.
